Avgolemono - Greek Chicken Lemon Soup 🥣🍋😌 Avgolemono - Greek Chicken Lemon Soup 🥣🍋😌 recipe👇 

🍋 cook your chicken in ghee (olive oil works too) & some bone broth until tender (so you can shred w/ fork) set aside in a bowl. Or use rotisserie chicken! 
🍋 in a large pot or Dutch oven, sauté 1 chopped white onion. Then add carrots & celery. a couple minutes later, add minced fresh garlic.
🍋 add chicken bone broth or chicken broth & your shredded chicken back in w/ the broth you cooked it in (extra flavor🤤)
🍋 add in 2-3 bay leaves & 1/2 cup of white rice (you can sub orzo). Be sure you soak your rice & rinse it before adding it. let this cook for about 10 mins until rice is tender, then turn down the heat.
🍋 in a separate bowl, use 2-3 large egg yolks, and juice of 1 lemon or about 1/2 cup lemon juice - whisk this together
🍋 ladle in 2 scoops of your warm broth to the bowl slowly & mix. Once this is mixed, add this mixture back to the soup pot, remove from heat & stir. 
🍋 garnish with fresh chopped dill or parsley + sea salt.

I love extrraaaaaaa dill bc I’m obsessed - but use as little as you’d like or go for parsley. I’ve made this recipe so many times - it’s my new winter soup go to. You can easily freeze this soup & reheat it as well.

my 3 favorite electrolyte mixes: @cure - obsessed my 3 favorite electrolyte mixes:

@cure - obsessed w/ their watermelon flavor. This is the only company I’ve found that has organic natural flavors. Normally “natural flavors” are chemically flavored and not natural at all 🙃 the base is made from coconut water as well. 

@drinklmnt - their raw unflavored version is the only one that doesn’t have artificial chemical flavoring from “natural flavors” so if you choose to go with this brand, stick to unflavored. 

@waterandwellnessco - I picked up some of their isotonic & hypertonic sea minerals and I love them so much! I’ve taken them when I’m sick, stressed, worked out hard, or have any migraines coming on and they have really helped me. Directions say to take first thing in the AM on an empty stomach. Tastes like a salty shot of water but now I don’t mind it that much. 

Our drinking water is usually depleted of the essential minerals that our bodies need so I’m always mindful to supplement with electrolytes especially when working out and going in the sauna. If you find yourself feeling tired, and not recovering well after working out, try adding in electrolytes to your diet to see if you notice an improvement.

I haven’t found any store bought sausage I’ve I haven’t found any store bought sausage I’ve loved so I made my own! Very limited options for breakfast sausage at the store that are organic/grass fed and has no added sugar. Starting my day off w/ protein always makes me feel my best & keeps me full until lunch. 

Seasoning: garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, fennel seed, sea salt, pepper. 

Combine seasoning with ground beef (you can sub ground Turkey, chicken, or pork if you prefer). Don’t mix the meat too much. Then form thin patties. I made mine a little thicker but will make them thinner next time. 

In a pan heat up olive oil and cook the patties for a few mins on each side until browned/ cooked through. Place them on a plate to cool completely before storing them to freeze.

Some of the most popular chemical SPFs are Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Octisalate, Octocrylene, Homosalate and Avobenzone.

Physical SPF’s, also known as mineral sunscreens, create a barrier on the surface of your skin, protecting it from UV rays. The 2 most popular are: Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide.

Chemical sunscreen active ingredients have been studied and they are known to cross the blood brain barrier. Chemical sunscreens can also disrupt our endocrine systems so I’ve chosen to replace all of my chemical sunscreens with physical spfs / mineral sunscreens moving forward. 

I apply mineral sunscreen to my face & neck daily. If I’m spending a lot of extended time in the sun, I will use mineral sunscreen on my body. I think more research needs to be done on both chemical & mineral sunscreens as there’s not enough information available. As always, I’m sharing what has worked for me. I encourage you to do your own research & most importantly, start reading ALL of your labels 👀 🤓

• @dropps laundry detergent pods 
• @mollys_suds brightening for whites 
• @mollys_suds stain spray 
• @missmouths stain spray 
• vinegar- in place of fabric softener
• wool dryer balls instead of fabric sheets. You can add essential oils or use them without anything. They last forever!
• baking soda (bulk buy from Costco). This deodorizes & brightens clothes. I also use it for scrubbing down sinks & tubs. 

Ever since I’ve switched away from chemically fragranced detergents full of harsh unnecessary chemicals, I’ve noticed my skin is sensitive to them. Even the smell from the laundry aisle in stores can give me a headache now 🤕 so overpowering & unnecessary. Let me know if you try any of these swaps or if you have any questions!
